Sarah Lustgarten is a writer with a creative mind and a poet’s soul, drawn to the ways stories inspire, uplift, and connect us. Born in Philadelphia and spending much of her life between there and Miami, she carries the people, places, and experiences that have shaped her life into her work.

Her love of language began early, from trading poems with her grandmother (by fax) to filling notebooks with songs. She later earned a bachelor’s degree in creative writing and journalism from the University of Miami and a master’s degree in creative writing and literature from Harvard University.

Sarah’s published work is in children’s literature, with three debut books scheduled for release in Spring 2026. She is also developing a poetry collection and a historical fiction novel for adult readers. Across genres, her writing is guided by curiosity, a search for meaning, and the small moments that shape us.

Alongside her creative work, Sarah, who has lived with multiple chronic illnesses for more than 20 years, is actively involved in patient advocacy and philanthropic initiatives. She shares her story through speaking engagements, podcasts, and community platforms, using storytelling to build awareness, connection, and understanding.
